History

At the beginning of the XX century, in the year 1900 we can find the first piece of news about the company Talleres Alegría. In the Aboño Valley, the same place where the present location of our company is, Mr. Bienvenido Alegría Cuervo began his industrial activity focusing on the important surrounding companies, the port, railways and canning industries. Therefore, during the first years, there was a great variety of activities: installing and repairing all types of machinery, ship repairs, boilermaking activities, repairs of steam trains and railway wagons or carriages, building of steam boilers and owens for the canning industries, building of track switches and crossings, etc. As time went by, he soon began to centre his activity on the railway area. When the firm founder died, in the year 1973, the bussines corporation Talleres Alegría, s.a. was created. Said corporation which had recived all the industrial knowledge and the experienceaccrued during all those years, began from that time onwards a great developing process. The best example of this spreading is the creation of a new factory in the year 1987 in order to exclusively dedicate to the manufacturing of fixed track material. At the same time that we are proud of our important past history, we are always thinking of our future with a permanent view of self-improvement.
